I had no idea until I was looking something up this morning that D'Anna on Battlestar Galactica is played by Lucy Lawless. I can't believe how easy it is to fool me with a new hairdo. I think that part of it is that I'm totally willing to forget that the characters aren't real. It's what leads to moments like having a 12-year old ask me if I'm crying while watching a movie (the movie was The Pursuit of Happyness and yes, I was crying, a bit, but I was jet-lagged and it all looked really bad for them for a while there and kept getting worse, and I have this thing where I forget that the characters aren't real. It's why hallucinogens really are not a good idea for me at all... the fiction line is thin enough for me as it is...
I just asked Patrick, my roommate, if he knew that D'Anna was Lucy Lawless and I'm pretty sure that now he thinks I probably can't tie my own shoes. He asked how I could possibly have not known. "Well she's blonde," I pointed out. "And she's a cylon, not a warrior princess." He looked at me, you know, like that wasn't enough. "Okay, and I'm retarded."
