Adobe? Unscrupled? Who'da thunk it? Maybe it's just their Windows group, or maybe it's just their Photoshop Album group, or maybe it's just their Canadian group, but something is definitely smelly in their product registration.
This is supposed to be a free product, and has many fine reviews out there. I was therefore disgruntled to discover that the product had to be registered to keep functioning. For the record, my personal information is not free. This makes the software not-free, and therefore a lie.
Fine fine, this is all for the Harlot anyway so she can have something vaguely iPhoto-like on the laptop while on tour, so I decide to just get it over with and register the damn thing. I carefully check the "No, I don't want to receive email..." box as I move through the form, and then when I switch the Country field to "Canada" the checkmark I placed in the box remains there, but the text next to it now says, "Yes, I would like to receive e-mail..." and needs to be UN-checked not to receive mail.
I'd like to quote the White Stripes, but don't want to earn the emnity of Adobe. Just take a look at the title of track 11 of their White Blood Cells album...
